These doughnuts are literally my most favorite thing I have ever made on slimming world. I have made the baked oat ones before and I am not really that keen if I'm being honest. I wanted to make some that are more like a real doughnut texture (only so much one can do with a baked oat babe).
The doughnuts are just under 1 1/2 syns each if making 12 small ones. They are no Krispy Kreme, but a pretty close second.
Ingredients
100g Self Raising Flour (16 syns)
Half a small pot of Quark
4 Tbsp Sweetener
1 Egg
Tsp Baking Powder (1/2 syn)
4 Tbsp Lemon juice
Zest of one Lemon
Cinnamon Lemon Drizzle
4 Tbsp lemon juice
Tsp ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp of sweetener
Method
- Preheat the oven to 170°C. Spray a doughnut tray/mould (I got mine from amazon) with Frylight. This recipe makes 12 small doughnuts or 6 big ones.
- To make the doughnuts, sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add the quark, lemon juice, sweetener, lemon zest and egg to the flour and mix well
- Once combined evenly spoon the mixture into the doughnut mould and pop in the oven for 12-15 minutes (small doughnuts) 20-25 minutes (larger doughnuts) - *PLEASE NOTE* All ovens are different and these are only guidelines. These doughnuts should be firm to touch and a dark golden colour
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a cooling rack
- Once completely cooled remove the doughnuts from the mould
- To make the cinnamon lemon drizzle, combine the lemon juice, 2 tbsp of the sweetener and cinnamon in a bowl and mix well
- With a knife poke some holes in the tops of the doughnuts and pour the drizzle over them
- Using the last tbsp of sweetener, sprinkle the doughnuts to give them that freshly sugared look ....just like at the fairground 😊
