Halloween Milkshake

T r i c k o r T r e a t ? Well, why not both?    The kids had so much fun making Halloween milkshakes, experimenting with different flavors and ingredients to create crazy potions in true witch style.  The beauty with these shakes is, you can use whatever you like depending on the theme in mind, you could use strawberries to create blood, or even my beloved pumpkin for a candy corn looking milky Halloween treat. These slime green milkshakes are not only ghoulishly freaky looking and decorated with creepy sweeties for treaties, but also jam packed with fruit and calcium. Ingredients 2 Glasses of whole milk 2 Scoops of vanilla ice cream (any flavour will do) 1 Banana mashed Food colouring (I used blue and yellow to create the green ) Selection of spooky sweets (I used Teeth, laces and eyeballs) Strawberry sauce Squirty cream Halloween themed sprinkles Halloween themed glasses Halloween themed straws Method

Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Pie with a Halloween twist

Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Pie with a Halloween twist!!   I have to admit, pies are my ultimate comfort food, I love nothing more than a flakey pastry lid and creamy filling served with veg and gravy. Mmmmmm!!  My traditional creamy Chicken and Mushroom pie is a recipe I tweaked from a Hairy Bikers slimming recipe. However, I wanted to add more luxury and a touch of Halloween wizardry to make it the ultimate autumn dinner time dish. In the past, I have added butternut squash to all sorts, curries, soups, cottage pie or even burgers. So I thought why not create something different and  keep in theme with the time of year.       Ingredients 2 tbsp. of Olive oil 2 Large Chicken breasts, cut into chunks 6 Rashers of smoked bacon, cut into strips 2 Leeks, finely chopped 150g of Chestnut mushrooms, chopped into quarters Half a Butternut squash or Pumpkin, peeled and chopped into large chunks (I used butternut squash, but either would be YUMMY!) Crème Fraise Tsp.

Curried Pumpkin Soup

Curried Pumpkin Soup Well its October, leaves everywhere, a cool chill in the air and the nights are getting so dark..... Yes, winter is coming. But I LOVE it. I love the colours, I love the spooky feeling at night, i love pumpkin flavored everything, I love cosy nights in and I love the feeling of coming home to a warm toasty house after long cold walks. Sundays are made for family walks and today we grabbed our coats, braved this crazy wind and went for an autumnal walk through the woods. The kids loved collecting pretty leaves(as seen in the pictures above) and playing on the park. We had a quick stop at the shop down the road and grabbed some freshly made bread to dip in our pumpkin soup that I prepared this morning. Really wanted to share my October vibes in a bowl, so here is how I created this warm spiced soup. Ingredients Few splashes of olive oil 2 Onions chopped 1 Pumpkin 1 Large sweet potato 1 Large white potato 2 Large carrots 1 tsp of easy garlic

Freaky Frankenstein Sugar Biscuits

Freaky Frankenstein Sugar Biscuits I just love this time of year, pumpkins , witches, autumn colours  and cosy nights in. Pure hygge heaven. So with Halloween fast approaching I am literally turning everything I make or bake into a super scary version. Getting the kids involved in all my freaky fun Halloween specials is always a great way to keep them entertained now the nights are getting colder and darker. These Frankenstein sugar biscuits are scarily easy to make, not to mention how quick everyone gobbles them down. We enjoyed ours with a glass of milk while settling down at night watching scary movies under a blanket. So, to get creepy with the kids all you need is.... Ingredients 90g of butter 100g of caster sugar 1 medium egg ½ tsp of vanilla extract 200g of plain flour ½ tsp of baking powder Pinch of salt 150g of icing sugar Green food colouring (or yellow and blue mixed together) Candy eyes Black and green icing tubes Rectangle/sqaure cookies cutt
