Syn Free Falafels

Syn Free Falafels

Ingredients

1 can of chickpeas
1 onion (very finely chopped)
1 tsp of  Chilli (very finely chopped)
1 tsp of Garlic (crushed)
1 tsp Ground Cumin
1 tbsp chopped fresh Coriander
¼ tsp baking powder
Pinch of Salt & pepper
Frylight

Method

1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees c and spray a baking tray with Frylight
2. Drain the chickpeas and then rinse them thoroughly with water in a sieve
3. Mash the chickpeas, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, chilli, baking powder, salt and pepper in a bowl until a smooth paste (you can use a blender to do this if easier)

4. Chill for an hour (or 47 mins if you are impatient like me, ha)
5. Once chilled roll the mixture in the palm of your hands to create a little ball shape (I made 9, but you can have them as big or small as your mouth desires)
6. Pop the balls on to your baking tray and cook for roughly 20 mins, or until crispy and a nice golden colour
7. Serve with literally anything you fancy or just gobble them up as syn free snackage!

I served mine with all my favorite things, olives (1 syn), carrotsbeetroot hummus, peppers, tomatoes etc. I also had a wholemeal pitta (HEXb) that i stuffed everything in.
Heaven!
